A lot of NBA players use their offseason time for vacation, but Mavs star Luka Doncic has been hitting the gym. In fact, the Slovenian-born swingman appears to be changing his physique. Simply put, he's bulking up.

Doncic, now 20 years of age, was recently caught in a few photos while going through a workout routine. He was never “out of shape,” so to speak, but it's clear that he's been focusing on his muscle mass index this summer.

Doncic told Mavs owner Mark Cuban that he was going to build have “six-pack” abs this summer, and it seems as though he's well on his way:

By most accounts, Doncic has been a great addition to the Mavs' roster. He made 72 appearances in his rookie season (all starts), racking up averages of 21.2 points on 42.7 percent shooting from the field (32.7 percent from beyond the arc), 7.8 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.1 steals in 32.2 minutes per outing.

The Mavs finished the 2019-20 regular season with a 33-49 overall record, which left the team out of playoff contention. For next season, however, Dallas has added Kristaps Porzingis, though he is still recovering from an ACL injury. If he can manage to come back healthy, the Mavs will be a top contender in the Western Conference.
