Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic is cooking up a big game against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday, and the Mavs phenom made Bulls rookie Patrick Williams look silly in the first quarter as part of a 30-point first half.

Doncic put Williams in the blender on this play:

It initially looked like Doncic badly broke Williams' ankles, but the rookie tripping over the Mavs star's foot made it look way worse than it was. Still, it was just one of the many nasty plays by Doncic in the first half.

Doncic went into halftime with 30 points (11-of-19 shooting and 6-of-9 from 3), seven rebounds and five assists. Bulls star guard Zach LaVine even went so far as to try some humorous on-court antics to slow Doncic down:

Despite his efforts, the Mavs still found themselves behind the Bulls 67-52 at the half.

Doncic's shooting slowed down in the third quarter, but he continued to make magic in other ways en route to a triple-double. The Mavs will need more wizardry from Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis in the fourth quarter if they're to pull off a big comeback against Chicago.

Dallas is coming off a close 112-109 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday. The Doncic-Porzingis duo combined for 43 points during the outing. The Mavs entered play Sunday with a 6-5 record, while the Bulls were looking to end a four-game losing streak that put them at 4-8 on the young season.

Doncic is looking like an MVP candidate again to start this campaign. Prior to Sunday's game, the Mavs star was averaging 27.5 points, 9.6 rebounds and 8.8 assists in 34.2 minutes per game. While his 3-point shooting hasn't been up to par so far (26.0%), one has to think that will creep up as the season goes on.
