Luka Doncic is having a historic sophomore campaign in leading the Dallas Mavericks to the upper echelon of the Western Conference. However, the Mavs' 20-year-old phenom is still hesitant to put his name in the same breath as Michael Jordan.

ESPN's Tim McMahon and several members of the media talked to the Slovenian superstar after another incredible performance in what was an unfortunate 110-106 loss to the Sacramento Kings. Doncic was asked how he felt about beating Michael Jordan's record of consecutive 20-5-5 games.

Doncic issued a classy reaction that showcased his maturity and hunger to improve.

“I think it's a little bit too much stats,” Doncic said. “You can't compare nobody to Michael Jordan. He's one of a kind. Those are just stats.”

Older basketball heads loved his answer as it paid respect to the one who's widely recognized as the best to ever lace them up.

However, Doncic seems to be underplaying his own performance a bit. He now has the second-longest 20-5-5 streak in NBA history — only three games behind the legendary Oscar Robertson.

Moreover, he's having an incredible season of his own. The Mavs' floor general is averaging almost a triple-double with 30.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 9.2 assists per contest after the first 23 games of the season. All these and more make him one of the most exciting players to watch in the NBA at the moment.

The scariest thing about Doncic? He's only 20 years old. One can only imagine how good he'll become once he reaches his peak.
