Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic admitted he is still in pain after returning from ankle and knee injuries during Tuesday's game against the Brooklyn Nets.

Doncic, who missed their previous game against the Memphis Grizzlies due to lingering knee and ankle issues, was given the green light right in time for their showdown with the Nets. Unfortunately, even his return was not enough for the Mavs to end their losing skid after Brooklyn came back from as much as 17 points to take the W.

Following the contest, Luka was seen walking gingerly as his face showed that of someone who's clearly hurt. In his postgame presser, he acknowledged that he has yet to return to full health.

“I try to play. I try to practice. But it’s still painful,” the Mavs star said, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Luka Doncic finished with 28 points, six rebounds and nine assists against the Nets. However, he was unable to find his shot from deep after making just three of his 11 triple attempts.

It remains to be seen what the Mavs, especially since they have another game scheduled on Wednesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies. Luka hasn't been at his best since suffering the knee and ankle injuries against the Denver Nuggets in mid-November–which forced him to miss three straight contests–and by the looks of it, he needs more time to heal.

Hopefully, though, Luka can recover sooner rather than later as the Mavs aim to get back to the winning column.
