Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic just made history on Monday, as his 42-point outing set the record for the most points scored by any player in his playoffs debut. However, despite his heroics, the Mavs still suffered a 118-110 defeat at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers.

After the defeat, Luka gave a rather unexpected response with regards to his excellent performance. As it turns out, the Slovenian youngster was not one bit happy about how he played against LA.

Luka Doncic finished the contest with 42 points on 13-of-21 shooting, along with seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals in 38 minutes of action. He also made 14 of his 15 attempts from the charity stripe, but as he said above, the 11 turnovers he committed was a sour note to his otherwise stellar performance.

Clearly, Doncic values the W above any individual achievement, which explains why he was not a happy man following the Mavs' Game 1 defeat against a heavily-favored Clippers side. Nonetheless, there's no denying that Luka put forth a tremendous performance on Monday.

If there was any doubt if he was going to have any playoffs jitters early on, then this performance should absolutely crush that notion.

In the end, the Clippers' power duo of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George proved to be too much for the Mavs, with the pair combining for 56 points on the evening.

Game 2 of this series will take place on Wednesday, and another loss for Doncic and the Mavs might just place them in a deep hole they won't be able to climb out of.
