Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks put an end to the NBA-best streak of the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday night, 112-85.

The Mavs-Grizzlies matchup was quite timely as in coincided with the recent results of the second batch of NBA All-Star Game fan voting. The most notable change from the first returns involved Doncic slipping down from second-place among Western Conference guards in favor of Ja Morant.

Doncic got the better of his counterpart on Friday, The Mavs star posted a huge triple-double of 27 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists out-besting Morant's 19 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

When asked about the All-Star results, Luka Doncic was beyond complimentary of his rival during the postgame press conference.

Via Brad Townsend:

“I think he deserves the attention he's getting,” said Luka Doncic after the Mavs win. “He's obviously playing at an amazing level this season. I think he deserves it.”

“He's just a different player, you know,” the Mavs star continued. “He's special. I think he's very talented. His athleticism is above everything and he jumps out of the gym. He's going to be a great player. I mean, he already is.”

Ja Morant and Luka Doncic are going to be the premiere guards in the Western Conference for the next decade. They'll still have dozens of matchups in the future, but the mutual respect is already there.
