Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle noticed that teams have been playing very physical with Luka Doncic. The NBA champion Mavs coach expressed his disappointment over the lack of calls his star point guard has been getting this season, more especially over these last stretch of games.

The Slovenian Sensation sided with Carlisle's claim, but dismissed it as part of the game, per Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.

The Mavs guard has also noticeably been complaining with officials more this season and is aware that he has to tone it down a bit. But if the calls aren't going his way, considering how teams are playing him this year, maybe he has the right to do so.

The 2018 3rd overall pick has made the meteoric rise to superstardom in his sophomore season after taking the league by storm in his debut campaign. Thus, it's understandable that opposing defenses have made him the focal point of their defensive game plan whenever they face the Mavericks.

Nevertheless, despite having to go through the physical grind every night, Doncic has managed to put up gaudy numbers for the Mavs. Doncic is averaging 29.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 8.9 assists through 32 games this season to go with 47-33-81 shooting splits.

The reigning Rookie of the Year's freethrow attempts have also increased to over nine a game as he has been getting to the basket more often this season.

Doncic is undoubtedly becoming one of the most exciting rising stars in the NBA today, and the first returns of the All-Star game voting show that. However, being a superstar comes the price of being the nightly target for opposing defenses around the Association.
