Luka Doncic saved the day for the Dallas Mavericks, albeit not in the most beautiful way one can imagine.

With the Memphis Grizzlies ahead 113-111 and just 1.8 seconds left, the Mavs gave the ball to Doncic and let him do his magic–which he did. Barely avoiding stepping on the 3-point line, the Slovenian wonderboy hoisted the ball up despite being off-balanced and surprisingly made the shot to escape with the W.

The ball didn't even touch the rim as the final buzzer ended, breaking the hearts of the fans in attendance at FedEx Forum.

Here's the play, which certainly surprised not only the Grizzlies but also the Mavs:

For what it's worth, the Mavs perfectly designed a play to give their superstar the ball on their last possession. But with just less than two seconds on the clock, the Mavs needed a Hail Mary and Doncic provided one.

Luka Doncic has never shied away from the big moments, and he has now added another clutch bucket to his growing archive. This one though was definitely one of his toughest game-winners and will surely break the internet in the coming hours.

The gravity of the win makes Doncic's shot even bigger. The Grizzlies are currently trailing the Mavs in the very tight playoff picture in the West, and so the win puts Dallas two games ahead of Memphis to further cement their spot at number 7.
