Though he has been dealing with a sprained right ankle, Mavs forward Luka Doncic will play in Monday night's game against the Washington Wizards.

“I’m not 100 percent, but I’ll play for sure,” Doncic told Dwain Price of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I don’t want to miss any games.”

Doncic was unable to participate in Sunday's practice and was listed as questionable on the injury report. However, the Slovenian-born star was able to get a full run in with his teammates in Monday's session.

Tuesday's game against the Wizards is the first of a back-to-back set for the Mavs, who are carrying a 2-7 overall record through the early stages of this season. The fact that Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle feels confident in Doncic's recovery is certainly a good sign.

When asked about the possibility of guarding John Wall in Monday's game, Doncic noted that he'd give the job to someone else.

“He’s too fast for me,” Doncic told Candace Buckner of The Washington Post. “I think I’m going to give the job to someone else.”

Doncic, now 19 years of age, is obviously an extremely important piece of the Mavs' rotation. He has made nine appearances with Dallas this season, racking up averages of 19.4 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the field (39.3 percent from beyond the arc), 6.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and just under one steal (0.9) in 34.8 minutes per outing.

Tuesday night's Mavs-Wizards game is set to tip inside the American Airlines Center at 8:30 p.m. ET, with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
