The Dallas Mavericks really can't catch a break lately with COVID-19. Isaiah Thomas, Trey Burke, and Boban Marjanovic are already out due to the virus and now, you can add Mavs big man Kristaps Porzingis to the list, who just entered protocols. Via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski:

Luka Doncic literally just returned from a bout with COVID and an ankle injury a well and already, the star duo is split up again.

Porzingis was a healthy scratch in Sunday's win over the Thunder, which was Luka's first game in several weeks. But when Doncic was out, the Unicorn stepped up big time. He averaged around 23 points per game as the Mavs' main source of offense, even though Dallas struggled to win games.

On the year, Porzingis is dropping 20.6 points and grabbing eight boards per night, but he's shooting the three-ball at a disappointing 28% clip. With the isolation guidelines slightly different now, the Mavs star could return not too long down the road. Most of the roster is fully vaccinated, which means his isolation period could be just five days based on the new CDC rules.

The Mavs are back in action on Monday night against the Denver Nuggets. They also face Warriors on Wednesday at home.
