Luka Doncic is already something close to a household name internationally. Just in case his mother didn't know that, though, she was reminded over the weekend by a hilarious interaction with a fan.

Mirjam Poterbin, Doncic's mom, was in Instanbul, Turkey over the weekend when a man stopped her on the street to ask where she was from. When Poterbin answered “Slovenia,” the man quickly pivoted into basketball fan, asking if she knew of Luka Doncic. Her response was absolutely perfect.

Awesome.

This isn't the first time Poterbin has found herself making news. Last summer, immediately after Doncic was drafted, she quickly became the talk of social media after Golden State Warriors veteran Andre Iguodala decided to tweet about her looks.

Doncic, of course, is the Dallas Mavericks playmaker who's a shoo-in to win 2018-19 Rookie of the Year. The most decorated international prospect in the history of the NBA Draft, he surpassed expectations en route to averaging 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game – a historic line for a rookie only previously reached by Hall-of-Famer Oscar Robertson, according to basketball-reference. Doncic did it on solid efficiency, too, with an average 54.5 true shooting percentage despite taking some of the most difficult shots in the league.

Just 20-years-old, the Slovenian sensation has a long way to go before reaching his potential. He still needs to improve his body, more consistently engage on defense, and continue tightening a jumper whose development could prove the difference between MVP contention and run-of-the-mill stardom.

Regardless, expect Doncic's fame – and by proxy, his family's – to continue to increase.
