The Dallas Mavericks got absolutely pummeled by the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. Mavs superstar Luka Doncic was clearly unhappy with the blowout and was quick to take the blame for what could be a key defeat in Dallas' hopes to avoid the play-in tournament out West.

Following the Mavs' 133-104 loss, Doncic came out with a rather surprising admission as to his performance in the disappointing drubbing.

“That game was obviously one of the worst I ever played,” Doncic said, via Tomer Barazani of SI.com. “That game is on me. I wasn’t here. I wasn’t myself. We’ve got to bounce back, but that game was obviously one of the worst games I’ve ever played and I’ve got to be better.”

Doncic has always been critical about his own play, and he did not mince words on Tuesday night. The Mavs point guard finished the game with 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting and 0-of-4 from the 3-point line. He also committed five turnovers while collecting five rebounds and five assists. The fact that he took a bit of a stumble in the game may have also had an effect on his poor play.

Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle echoed his star's sentiments. He also went on to say that it was a pretty awful performance not only from Doncic, but also from the entire squad.

“Nobody really played well,” Carlisle said. “I don’t think there’s anybody that’s happy with the way they played. We’ve got to win and lose as a team, so we’ve just got to get together and do a lot better tomorrow night.”

The Mavs have just three more games remaining in the regular season as they currently occupy the sixth spot in the West–just one game above the seventh-seeded Los Angeles Lakers.
