The NBA referees have been heavily criticized this season due to numerous controversial calls they've made that had significant impacts in the outcomes of several games. Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is the latest person to call out the league officials due to what he sees as a missed call during the game between the San Antonio Spurs and the Philadelphia 76ers.

Mark Cuban was referring to a play late in the fourth quarter, when the Spurs were down one, 121-120. DeMar DeRozan was able to get past Wilson Chandler after he crossed him over from the right wing. However, Chandler was able to chase DeRozan and block his shot attempt.

While it seemed that there were a lot of contact in that play, the referees did not blow their whistle, because according to them, Chandler was able to establish vertical position inside the no-charge zone, therefore making his block against DeRozan valid.

However, Cuban isn't buying the refs' reasoning behind the no-call. In his argument, Cuban explained that since Chandler was chasing DeRozan, who had a clear path for a layup, there was no way the Sixers forward would've been able to establish legal position from inside the no-charge zone, meaning that should've been a foul call that could've resulted to two Spurs freethrows.

With plenty of time still left before the regular season comes to a close, there concerns towards the credibility of NBA officials are starting to grow. They have missed several obvious calls in recent weeks, and several players and coaches have publicly called them out.

Right now, the commissioner's office has yet to intervene in any issues surrounding league referees.
