Last Thursday, a woman made a shocking rape allegation towards Dallas Mavericks forward and former New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis, leading the NYPD to conduct a thorough investigation.

The woman, who happened to be Porzingis' neighbor, said the 23-year old forward invited her to his penthouse in Manhattan, where the alleged rape reportedly took place. The woman claimed that the incident happened hours after Porzingis' knee injury, which has sidelined him since February last year.

Mavs team owner Mark Cuban was asked by NY Post's Tina Moore to give a statement regarding the matter, but he refused.

“We have been instructed by federal authorities not to comment,” Cuban said in a statement emailed to The New York Post.

Dallas acquired Kristaps Porzingis from the Knicks last month, and they see him as an integral part of their team for next season.

NYPD believes that the statements issued by Porzingis' neighbor is credible.

The incident allegedly happened on February 7, 2018 at the Sky building in Midtown West at around 2:00 am. Porzingis reportedly visited the woman's apartment and invited her to go to his posh pad where the woman claims she was raped by the 7-foot-3 Latvian star.

The woman added that Porzingis promised to pay her $68,000 to keep her shut, but over a year has passed and she has not received anything from Kristaps. This led to her finally seeking the aid of the NYPD.
