Dwyane Wade has been in the news almost all of this season due to it being his “last dance” in the NBA at age 37. Wade has had a storied career, but this is another player that’s been in the NBA for longer that is over the age of 40 that many believe will be retiring this season. Of course, the player in question is none other than the Dallas Mavericks resident legend Dirk Nowitzki. As the greatest player in Mavs history and the best-shooting big man of all time, Dirk is a true legend. He is the face of the franchise in Dallas, and he has stuck around in order to help mentor Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis to help the future of this franchise.

Mark Cuban, the always-outspoken owner of the Mavs was rather incensed when he saw a recent quote from Wade in an interview in Sports Illustrated about “not wanting to be on the bench” in his final season – similar to what Nowitzki has been doing this year.

Michael Mulford of Dallas Sports Fanatic asked Cuban about Wade’s quote, and Cuban responded in no uncertain terms.

As expected, Cuban was protective of his guy, but this only continues to add fuel to the fire of the Wade/Nowitzki and Heat/Mavs rivalry.
