Dirk Nowitzki spent his 21-year NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks. For more than two decades, the future Hall of Famer was the team's superstar — its franchise player. The German forward was instrumental in Dallas' first ever NBA title in 2011 when he led the underdog Mavs to a monumental upset of the Miami Heat.

As great as Dirk Nowitzki is, it seems that his time in the NBA is almost up. Although he never definitively said that he will retire after this season, almost everyone, from fans to the media, believes that this will be his last year in the league.

Even Mavs owner Mark Cuban thinks that this is the 14-time All-Star's last hurrah.

Mark Cuban was a guest in the Ben and Skin Show and was asked by the hosts about the trade involving Kristaps Porzingis. Then the conversation shifted to Nowitzki's future. Jeff Wade asked Cuban if he feels like this is Dirk's final season in the NBA.

“Yeah, it is,” Cuban replied.

Nowitzki is 40 years old and hasn't really been able to contribute much for the Mavericks the past couple of seasons. Yet, Dallas still wanted him to stay. As of the moment, his role with the team is to help groom the next franchise player, rookie sensation Luka Doncic.

After this season, everything will be up to Dirk.
