Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic was selected to his second All-Star game this season, as he will be representing Team LeBron on Sunday evening in Atlanta. The young superstar just turned 22, and in that time, he was selected as Rookie of the Year, All-NBA First Team, and a 2x NBA All-Star starter for Team LeBron. It's no wonder why James wants Doncic on his team year after year, as the talented guard has much to offer from his passing abilities to his unlimited range and has become the face of the Mavs.

However, when asked about the format of the All-Star game, Doncic seemed discontent with the idea of team captains and preferred the old school method much more, according to Eddie Sefko.

Before the idea of the league's best two players serving as the team captains where they got to choose from the players that had the most All-Star votes after a few rounds of fan voting, the All-Star game was between the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Players from the West and the East would battle it out on All-Star Sunday to see which conference had the most talent.

Doncic has never played in an All-Star game with this format, as the returning Team LeBron starter has only experienced the team captain format in his young career with the Mavs. But, the last All-Star game proved to be one of the most entertaining All-Star games fans have ever witnessed. The NBA world saw the players play with hustle and heart, a sight that is often rare to see. If that is the case this year, the NBA can bid farewell to the East vs. West format, as team captains will be running the show.
