The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame recently announced the highly anticipated list of eligible candidates for the Class of 2020. And while all eyes are on all-time greats like Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Kevin Garnett, there are also those individuals who made a significant impact in the NBA during their playing days. One of which is Michael Finley.

Michael Finley, the 21st overall pick in the 1995 NBA Draft, played 15 seasons in the NBA. He has career averages of 15.7 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists. He is mostly remembered for his time with the Dallas Mavericks, where he played with Dirk Nowitzki and Steve Nash.

The two-time All-Star was asked about his nomination in next year's Hall of Fame class, and he says it's an honor that the NBA has recognized his contributions as a player.

Aside from Bryant, KG, Timmy and Finley, other high-profile first-time nominees include Chris Bosh, Shawn Marion, Tamika Catchings and Swin Cash. Then are Ben Wallace, Chris Webber, Chauncey Billups, Richard Hamilton and Marv Albert, who've all been nominated in the past.

A press conference announcing the Finalists for the Class of 2020 will be held during NBA All-Star Weekend, which is scheduled for Friday, February 14th in Chicago, Illinois. The entire Class of 2020, including those selected by the direct elect committees, will be unveiled during the NCAA Final Four in Atlanta, Georgia in early April.

It is unlikely that Finley will be inducted into the 2020 Hall of Fame, but for him to be included in the shortlist of it is already a great achievement.
