While the Dallas Mavericks appear to be addressing the whole sexual misconduct debacle within its organization in a rightful and stern manner, the NBA remains steadfast in monitoring the highly-sensitive situation.

Fresh allegations have recently surfaced involving one of the team's photographers. According to Emily Caron of Sports Illustrated, league commissioner Adam Silver is well aware of these new assertions, and has no intentions of taking it lightly.

“We were aware of those additional allegations and we are monitoring how they are responding to them,” Silver said.

In a separate statement, newly-appointed Mavs CEO Cynthia Marshall gave a timely update on the situation. According to her, the organization is taking the necessary steps to address this disturbing issue at hand. However, she is adamant that the results of their investigation will be kept in house.

“We responded fully to the findings of the independent investigation and took immediate and complete action before the press conference,” Marshall said. “Our complaint processes are working and any resulting personnel action is a matter of employee privacy. We were transparent about the findings of the independent investigation. Our own internal investigations will not yield transparency. It's private. It's the normal course of doing business.”

This is certainly a terrible way for the Mavs to start off their season. In fact, it's truly a horrible scenario regardless of its timing.

Hopefully, this does not serve as much of a distraction for the team. The front office appear to be doing everything in their power to squash this problem, giving the players room to focus on their basketball.
