Dallas Mavericks big man Nerlens Noel isn’t one to get intimidated by the antics of Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid.

In fact, he can’t wait to face his former teammate and give Embiid a dose of his own medicine when the Mavericks host Philadelphia this Saturday at American Airlines Center. In an interview with The Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, Noel said that he’s going to give Embiid a run for his own money.

“Oh, yeah, I'm going to come at him,” Noel said of his former teammate. “Come at him. I think we are going to have a great competition, great battle – just like we used to in practice.

Noel and Embiid had a lot of battles in practice before, as the two used to be teammates with the Sixers. But Saturday marks just the first time these big men are going to share the court against one another in an official NBA game.

Noel was drafted sixth overall by the New Orleans Pelicans in 2013 but was immediately traded to the Sixers. Embiid, meanwhile, was drafted by Philly a year later, though injuries had delayed his pro debut for two years.

Nerlens Noel is going to have his hands full defending against Joel Embiid. The Cameroonian has been heating up of late, having scored 51 points over the past two games. The Mavs center, meanwhile, is averaging 8.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks per game so far this season.
