Over the last week or two, rumors have been swirling that the New York Knicks are aggressively pursuing the Mavs' Jalen Brunson. They even hired his father as one of the assistant coaches. Well, Brunson's teammate Reggie Bullock chimed in on all of that talk.

The Mavs forward tweeted: “JB deserves everything coming his way, true hard worker and def LIKE DAT (money) AND BETTER PERSON OFF THE COURT 100.”

The Dallas Mavericks surprised much of the NBA world by reaching the Western Conference Finals last season. It was particularly shocking considering they were without Mavs superstar Luka Doncic to begin the postseason. In his absence, Jalen Brunson stepped up in a big way. He even dropped 41 points during one of the playoff games. Despite falling to the eventual NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, Brunson had done enough to garner a ton of free agency attention.

He quietly put together a very good season for the Mavs. Brunson averaged 16.3 points, 4.8 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game. However, it was his efficiency that really set him apart. He shot over 50 percent from the field, which as a point guard, is very uncommon. He also knocked down over 37 percent of his shots from beyond the arc.

The Knicks are clearly in need of some offense and Brunson showed in the playoffs he can provide that. But there are still serious questions surrounding if Brunson can be the best player on a championship team. Even media personnel and Knicks fans have had a hard time accepting that fact.

One thing is for sure, the Mavs might be lose a valuable member of the team.
