While there have been plenty of talks about his not so good relationship with Luka Doncic, former Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle remains supportive of his former player and team.

After all, if there is anyone outside the Mavs organization who is well aware of Doncic's capabilities, it's Carlisle who coached the youngster for three seasons, starting in his rookie year.

Carlisle knows how special the Slovenian wonderboy is, so much so that he sees nothing but a bright future for him filled with MVP trophies and multiple NBA championships.

“I don't have any question in my mind that there will be multiple MVPs in his future. There will be championships in his future. He has a real, great, natural sense for the moment,” Carlisle said in a recent appearance on 105.3 The Fan, per Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News.

Luka Doncic has already established himself as the best young superstar in the NBA, and while he has yet to win an MVP in his young career, he has a chance to win the championship this time around.

The Mavs have reached the Western Conference Finals in Jason Kidd's first year as head coach, and many believe Doncic is the best player remaining in the postseason.

Of course there's still a long way to go before they actually compete for the Larry O'Brien trophy, but the Mavs will like their chances with Luka leading the way.

Sure enough, Carlisle will have his eyes on his former team and cheer for them as they try to win the championship for the first time since he and the 2011 Mavs did it.
