Monday night in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center, Nets fans erupted when Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki hit his first shot from the field in the fourth quarter of a blowout game. It was gesture Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle called “very touching.”

Just like Miami Heat star shooting guard Dwyane Wade, Nowitzki has been getting showered with love in every road arena he plays in this season.

Although Dirk hasn't announced if this is going to be his last season in the NBA like Wade, fans want to show their appreciation for the future Hall of Famer in case he decides to hang it up after this season ends.

It's been really cool to watch the ovations Nowitzki has been getting this season. He's one of the best players in NBA history and the fans are doing the right thing by cheering for him.

The Mavs are likely going to miss the playoffs this season. Other than the development of rookie phenom Luka Doncic, this season for Mavs fans has been all about watching Nowitzki and reminiscing about all the good times they have had with him.

Nothing will ever top what Dirk did back in 2011 against LeBron James, D-Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat in the 2011 Finals.
