Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle told local reporters on Thursday power forward Kristaps Porzingis “got some good work with” the Mavs' first unit in practice.

Porzingis has fully recovered from his ACL tear, but won't play this season. Dallas has four games left in the regular-season and won't be playing in the postseason.

Kristaps Porzingis has been practicing with the Mavs for about a month now. By all accounts, Carlisle has been extremely happy with how KP has looked in practice.

Before he tore his ACL last season with the New York Knicks, Porzingis was averaging 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from beyond the arc in 48 games.

The Mavs can't wait to deploy Porzingis next season alongside Luka Doncic, who is expected to win the 2019 Rookie of the Year award. Dallas is hoping Porzingis and Doncic can be the franchise cornerstones for the next decade. One can only imagine how lethal KP and Luka are going to be in the pick-and-pop game next season.

Carlisle is one of the top coaches in the league. He figures to design a bevy of plays that will get Porzingis easy looks in the post and out by the 3-point line.
