Seth Curry decided to return to the Dallas Mavericks this offseason, which wasn't a hard decision to make for the 29-year-old guard.

Curry spent the 2018-19 campaign with the Portland Trail Blazers, playing a key role for the team on their way to the Western Conference Finals. Despite the success in Portland, however, Curry opted to enter free agency and eventually signed a four-year, $32 million deal with the Mavs — the team he played for from 2016 to 2018.

In an interview with Micah Wimmer of Fan Sided, Curry revealed that going back to Dallas after a year away was an easy call for him, noting his fit and familiarity with Coach Rick Carlisle's system.

“A lot of things,” Curry said when asked what led to his Mavs return. “I’m very familiar with their system, the organization, and Mark [Cuban] and Rick [Carlisle]. I had some of my best years already in Dallas, that one year I played some of my best basketball. It fits my style and they value me. They wanted to come and get me in the free agent market. They value what I do and I’m looking forward to going back there and hit the ground running.”

Seth Curry had the best year of his career in Mavs uniform, so it's not really surprising to see him back. In 2016-17, Seth recorded career bests in almost all statistical categories — averaging 12.8 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.1 steals while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 42.5 percent from the 3-point line.

Unfortunately, Seth missed the entire 2017-18 season due to a stress reaction in his left tibia. He then went on to sign a cheap free agent deal with the Blazers in the summer of 2018.

Now that he's back in Dallas, Curry will hope to replicate his previous success with the team and provide a much-needed playoff experience to a young squad headlined by Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis.
