Shaquille O'Neal did not beat around the bush when he pointed out what the Dallas Mavericks need to do to turn their fortunes around in the 2020-21 campaign.

During the pre-game broadcast of the Mavs hosting of the Golden State Warriors at American Airlines Center on Thursday, the retired NBA icon turned analyst name-dropped two superstars that Dallas should trade for to pair with its superstar Luka Doncic.

Shaq argued that the Mavs need another “dog” in that line-up alongside Doncic, a role that Kristaps Porzingis is supposedly not fulfilling at the moment.

While acquiring either Bradley Beal or Russell Westbrook from Washington Wizards does seem like an intriguing prospect for the Mavs, it's not as easy as Shaq makes it sound in his latest remarks. Plus, his latest hot take about the Mavs getting a player “as good as Luka but a little bit better” will surely raise more eyebrows around the league.

Last month, Stephen A. Smith has already called out The Big Diesel for his supposed ridiculous comments on the Portland Trail Blazers' defense (or lack of thereof). Prior to their game versus the Dubs, the Mavs defeated the Atlanta Hawks, which finally snapped that horrendous seven-game losing skid. Doncic has been extremely vocal about his displeasure with his team's effort during that stretch.

Following last year's impressive play inside the NBA bubble at Walt Disney, Doncic and the Mavs were expected to make some waves in the West this season. But that hasn't been the case at all, as they currently rank 13th in the standings with a 9-13 start.

But as far as Shaquille O'Neal is concerned, Dallas just need some roster changes to get back on the winning track. Do you agree with Shaq's quick-fix solution?
