Luka Doncic and his camp are expecting that the Dallas Mavericks rising superstar will get his own lucrative shoe deal after rookie sensation Zion Williamson finalized his endorsement contract.

Williamson, the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, agreed to a multi-year shoe deal with Jordan Brand. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. However, Nick DePaula of ESPN revealed that other brands offered contracts that would have paid the New Orleans Pelicans star more than $10 million a year.

According to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, Williamson's deal is a huge development for the Mavs' Doncic. The reigning NBA Rookie of the Year is expected to get a new deal when his current contract with Nike expires in September. Williamson's deal is said to be a “reasonable ballpark figure” for the Slovenian star.

Doncic's agent Bill Duffy said three weeks ago that they are expecting to get a lucrative shoe endorsement deal after a strong rookie season from the 20-year-old Mavs forward.

“It's a big deal,” Duffy said. “And he's proven to be one of the marquee players in the league, so he's demonstrated his value.”

Doncic averaged 21.2 points on top of 7.8 rebounds and 6.0 assists a game en route to winning the 2019 NBA Rookie of the Year award.
