Ahead of their matchup on Monday, San Antonio Spurs guard Dejounte Murray shared his thoughts on Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks. According to the Spurs guard, the Mavs' point-forward is already a “star” in just his second year in the league.

Per Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News, Murray recalled the early impressions on Doncic. Some say that he won't replicate his success in the Euroleague in the NBA, but Murray believed otherwise.

“He’s a star. I watched him. He was overseas and people were saying he’s not going to do this in the NBA, but I saw the potential and I heard he worked hard,” Murray said.

“I was a big fan right away. We talk sometimes on Twitter. He’s a star.”

Coming off his stellar rookie campaign last season, Doncic has been showcasing his infinite potential with the Mavs.

For the season so far, he is averaging 28.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 9.1 assists and 1.3 steals. While there are several things to be ironed out in his game (such as his turnover volume), his supreme understanding of the game is pretty apparent.

Moreover, it's a rare sight to see a second-year man getting the full trust of a head coach — much more Rick Carlisle.

In the years to come, who knows how Doncic will improve? Is he about to show something that we haven't seen before?
