Josh McRoberts has been an NBA journeyman and it appears he will be on the move again. Mike Fisher of DallasBasketball.com has all the details.

ALERT: Source tells DallasBasketball.com that #Mavs plan to give buyout candidate Josh McRoberts his release tonight.

McRoberts was traded from the Miami Heat to the Dallas Mavericks during the offseason in return for A.J. Hammons. He is in the final year of a four-year deal and is owed six million this season.

He missed the first part of the season dealing with a foot injury but since that point, the former Duke Blue Devil hasn't caught on with the Mavs, never being able to crack the rotation with all the big men Dallas has on its roster.

Dirk Nowitzki, Harrison Barnes, Salah Mejri, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, Nerlens Noel, and Johnathan Motley are all the big men for the Mavs and this glut has led to the limited minutes for McRoberts.

This season, he has only appeared in two games and played a grand total of six minutes not scoring any points. For McRoberts, he is plenty past of his prime. His best season was in 2013-14 with the Hornets where he started 78 games averaging 30 minutes and 8.5 points per game.

Even though he isn't the player he used to be, McRoberts wants to have a shot to prove that his foot is healed, and he can still be an end of the bench guy for a playoff team.

At this point, it isn't exactly clear what teams are interested in his services, but he should at least draw some looks from teams looking for another veteran guy.
