Back in the day, Mavs owner Mark Cuban pulled off a hilarious April Fools' Day prank on his coaching staff.

Cuban pretended to fight a referee and Mavs assistant coach Del Harris thought it was real:

This is why Mark Cuban is one of the best owners in sports. He's always having fun at Mavs games no matter what.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended due to COVID-19, the Mavs were in seventh place in the Western Conference standings. Dallas, led by All-Stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, had a record of 40-27 prior to the season getting suspended.

The Mavs haven't won a playoff series since their 2011 championship over LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat. Mavs fans are hoping the season can be resumed in the summer since they were anxious to see Doncic and Porzingis compete in the postseason.

Cuban and the Mavericks were the first franchise to pay for its arena workers during the work stoppage. It was a great move that prompted other teams to step up as well.
