The Dallas Mavericks reportedly gauged interest in Kristaps Porzingis at the trade deadline. While the Mavs could explore trade options again in the offseason, Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer reports the ultimate goal is to find a center to pair with Porzingis in the frontcourt.

Richaun Holmes and John Collins are mentioned as specific targets. Holmes just finished up an outstanding season with the Sacramento Kings, while Collins didn't sign an extension last offseason with the Atlanta Hawks and is ticketed for restricted free agency.

The Mavs are set to have a good amount of cap space this offseason, so they can be aggressive in free agency. Both Holmes and Collins will surely have a number of suitors.

Holmes averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.6 blocks in 29.2 minutes per game for Sacramento. The 27-year-old is dynamite around the basket, shooting 63.7% from the field this past season and nearly 60% for his career. He would be a terrific pick-and-roll partner with Luka Doncic and a stellar frontcourt buddy for Porzingis.

Collins' numbers are a bit down compared to last season, with averages of 17.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 1.2 assists and a block in 29.3 minutes per game during the regular season. He shot 55.6% from the field and 39.9% from 3. The high-flyer played primarily power forward this season thanks to the presence of Clint Capela, but he split between the 4 and 5 more frequently in the past.

Porzingis has had another injury-plagued season, averaging 20.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks in 43 games. The big Latvian did shoot a career-high 47.6% overall and a solid 37.6% from 3-land. While Porzingis played almost exclusively at center, the Mavs likely want to get another big body in there to reduce some of the pounding he takes down low.

Dallas earned the No. 5 seed in the Western Conference and will face the Los Angeles Clippers in a playoff rematch in the first round. Porzingis had to leave the six-game series early last season, so the Mavs are hoping he'll help lead them to an upset this time around.
