Fortnite has become one of the most popular games in the world. Millions of people log on to the addictive battle royale-style game and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic is one of them. In fact, the Mavs rookie revealed that he was actually playing Fortnite when it was announced that he had won Rookie of the Month.

Luke Doncic isn't the only NBA player that loves Fortnite. Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond and Los Angeles Lakers guard Josh Hart have admitted that they are obsessed with the game. Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns even streams his Fortnite matches for his followers.

While Doncic's Fortnite skills probably aren't world class, his performance on the NBA court sure is. The Mavs rookie has immediately played impactful NBA minutes and amassed an impressive stat line of 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game while shooting 49 percent from the floor.

His sterling performance is not exactly a surprise to those who followed him closely in Europe. Of the talented rookie class of 2018, Doncic was voted by his peers to have the biggest chance of making an immediate impact on his team.

The analysis has been spot on, as the Mavs have outperformed expectations so far. After beating the Blazers on Tuesday night behind 21 points and nine rebounds from Luka Doncic, they improved their record to 12-10. If the Western Conference playoffs began today, the Mavs would shockingly be an eight seed.

Luka Doncic has proven that his talents can translate from the Euroleague to the NBA, and the sky is the limit for what he can accomplish with a few years under his belt.
