The Dallas Mavericks and the Denver Nuggets featured in one of, if not the most thrilling contest on Wednesday night. It was the Nuggets that emerged victorious in the tightly-contested matchup, 107-106, as they held off a formidable challenge from the Mavs. Following the contest, Dallas rising star Luka Doncic and Denver forward Juan Hernangomez took part in the traditional post-game jersey swap.

It was a wonderful sight to see, with the two Europeans also exchanging pleasantries after the mandatory photo op.

During last season's All-Star break, Luka Doncic spent some time hanging out with Juan's brother, Willy Hernangomez of the Charlotte Hornets, so it could be the case that Doncic has formed quite a bond with both Hernangomez siblings.

On the evening, Doncic was tremendous yet again for the Mavs, as he flirted with another triple-double. The 20-year-old logged 27 points (11-of-24 from the field, 4-of-6 from the line), nine rebounds, and 10 assists in 37 minutes of play.

His heroics, however, fell short, as Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic carried on with his rampage. The All-Star center accounted for a game-high 33 points on 12-of-20 shooting, along with four 3-pointers, six rebounds, seven assists, a steal, and a block.

For his part, Hernangomez logged only 12 minutes against Doncic and company, providing seven rebounds and a couple of assists.

The Mavs are off on Thursday, but are set for a tough back-to-back set on Friday and Saturday as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers and the Philadelphia 76ers, respectively.
