A trio of Marines were in attendance for the Dallas Mavericks’ game against the New Orleans Pelicans. They were chatting up Mavs big man Salah Mejri during shootaround, and they dared Mejri to hit a 3-pointer with no hands.

Mejri, who has hit exactly one 3-pointer in his two-plus seasons in the NBA with his hands, duly obliged as he effortlessly kicked the ball in soccer style in one attempt.

Mejri was understandably ecstatic upon pulling off that impressive feat with his feet, and received congratulations from a Mavs assistant coach. The Marines were also duly amazed by the Tunisian’s terrific show of skill.

Mejri’s kick 3-pointer is a nice reminder of just how ridiculously talented NBA players are. Even Mejri, who is an end-of-the-bench player for the Mavs, can perform athletic feats that very few human beings in the world are capable of doing and shouldn’t be under-estimated as those Marines mistakenly did.

Unfortunately for Mejri, kicking the basketball is illegal, otherwise he could’ve had more than that just one career 3-pointer. Still, it’s a neat trick he has in his back pocket and one that made a trio of Marines’ day, which is always cool.
