“Load management” has become a familiar term around the NBA landscape, as several teams around the league are utilizing the strategy. Most are fine with the notion of resting players on certain nights, but it seems former Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion is not a fan of this tactic.

Marion, who retired from the NBA in 2015 after 16 seasons, was given the opportunity to serve as a guest commentator for the Mavs' game against the Detroit Pistons on Thursday night in the opener of the NBA Mexico Games. While discussing substitution and coaching strategies in the second quarter, Marion accidentally let out a curse word on live air:

“… It's interesting how everybody is on this time management sh–,” Marion said during Thursday night's broadcast.

Marion knew the error of his ways and began to apologize immediately:

It's not surprising to learn that Marion is not a fan of load management, as he was a player who logged a lot of minutes over the course of his career. In fact, The Matrix was still averaging 31 minutes per game in his final season with the Mavs (2013-14). A lot of players from yesteryear share Marion's sentiments with regards to this strategy, but it doesn't seem to be going away.

Led by a 41-point effort from Luka Doncic, the Mavs managed to carry the day, 122-111. It was Luka's eighth triple-double performance of this season (41 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists). Seth Curry added a season-high 30 points off the bench Dallas, who will serve as hosts to the Miami Heat on Saturday.
