Before the start of the second quarter of their game against the Dallas Mavericks, the Golden State Warriors paid a tribute to forward Dirk Nowitzki, and asked the helped of one of his former teammates.

With Steve Nash in attendance, the Dubs made sure to make the most of the opportunity.

Steve Nash was a teammate of Dirk Nowitzki in Dallas from 1998 to 2004. Together, they shared a lot of great plays, with the latter usually on the receiving end of the former's stellar passes. Unfortunately, they weren't able to win a title during their time with the Mavs, and Nash eventually returned to the Phoenix Suns in the 2004-05 season.

Both players went on to have stellar individual careers, with Nash winning back-to-back league MVP in 2005 and 2006 and Nowitzki winning it in 2007. However, only Dirk was able to win a championship, when he led the Mavs to an upset of the Miami Heat in 2011. Steve never got past the Western Conference Finals.

Nash retired in 2014 and has served as a special consultant for the Warriors.

A lot of people are wondering how phenomenal the tandem of Nash and Nowitzki would've become had they chosen to stay together, especially since Nash finally emerged as the best point guard in the league when he left the Mavericks. He would've been a great help with Nowitzki in Dallas, and they could have won at least a title or two.

Still, they are considered as the two of the greatest non-American basketball players in the league, and Nowitzki will certainly join Nash in the Hall of Fame in the future.
