TikTokers Josh Richards and Griffin Johnson are taking their talents to the sports agency world. They launched CrossCheck Sports— a business they’ve set up alongside partners Marshall Sandman and Michael Gruen. The agency will handle NBA basketball players and eventually expand to other athletes from different sports in the future.

“I have always been a huge fan of (NBA) basketball and launching CrossCheck Sports allows me to be involved beyond being a fan,” Richards said in a statement. “We are going to grow recognition for our clients in a way that has never been done before and will leave no stone unturned, utilizing every resource available, on our quest to become the best sports agency in the world,” added Richards.

The company will be led by Zachary Charles, a long time agent certified both in the NBA and FIBA leagues. CrossCheck will not only handle the business side of athletes (contract negotiation and endorsement contracts) but also serve as marketing associates for the athletes themselves.

Gruen mentioned that CrossCheck Sports has already gotten started and is in talks with potential clients ahead of the NBA Draft, which will take place in July this year. Gruen isn't new to the sports industry himself as he’s handled a full-service agency called 3PT Sports Management in the past along with Charles.

Both Richards and Johnson have built enough experience in the industry over the past years to take this next step into NBA representation. Richards hosts the BFFs podcast along with Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy and was the co-founder of TalentX Entertainment—a social media monetization and talent company. Meanwhile Johnson is an advisor for companies Triller and ReKTGlobal.
