The Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves are battling it out in their first-round NBA Playoff series. Things are knotted up at 1-1 as we enter Game 3 and the series moves to Minnesota. After a surprise Timberwolves road win in Game 1 of the series, Memphis bounced back on Tuesday night with an emphatic 124-96 win. The Grizzlies will hope to pick up where they left off when they enter the Target Center on Thursday, and we have some bold predictions for Grizzlies-Timberwolves Game 3.

Game 1 saw the Grizzlies get stunned on their home court in a 130-117 defeat. Anthony Edwards' 36 points gave Minnesota a surprising 1-0 lead in the series, negating the 32 points scored by Morant. The Grizzlies shot a lowly 25.9% from 3-point range in Game 1, but they bounced back in Game 2, shooting 32.4% from beyond the arc. Still not great, but an improvement, and enough to see them earn the win. They'll hope their shooters can heat up in Game 3 on the road as they look to earn an important win in the first of two games at the Target Center.

3 bold Grizzlies predictions for Game 3 vs Timberwolves

3. Desmond Bane catches fire from deep

Despite the dominant Grizzlies' win in Game 2, Bane only hit one 3-pointer on four attempts. We're expecting him to bounce back with a big night from beyond the arc in Game 3, hitting at least four deep balls on the night and going off for 20+ points. Bane is one of the key cogs in Memphis' offensive approach and while they had a more rounded scoring effort on Tuesday, we're expecting him to look to score more frequently on the road.

While Bane has struggled shooting the 3-ball against the Timberwolves throughout the season, we're expecting him to flip that narrative and put up some big numbers in a must-win game on Thursday night. The Grizzlies will need every bit of scoring they can get out of Bane, and if he's hot from deep, he can have a huge impact on the outcome.

2. Steven Adams sees minimal minutes again

Steven Adams played just 3 minutes in the Grizzlies win on Tuesday night as Memphis opted to roll with a smaller rotation after Adams picked up two early fouls. Xavier Tillman and Kyle Anderson picked up additional minutes at center, and it worked out well for Memphis in Game 2. While we don't expect Adams to play quite as few minutes as last game, it would stand to reason that he'll once again see a significantly reduced role in the game.

If Memphis wants to use a smaller lineup, they proved on Tuesday they're comfortable of letting Anderson and Tillman take over at center, which opens up the offense along the perimeter and can get them going from beyond the arc. If that's the sacrifice Adams has to make in order for the Grizzlies to have the best chance at winning, he's more than willing to make it.

1. Ja Morant goes off for 35 points

After flirting with a triple-double in Game 2, we're expecting Morant to prioritize getting the ball in the basket on the road in Game 3. Morant is a player that loves the big stage and he's looking to make a statement on Thursday against the not-so-humble Timberwolves team. If there's any place for Morant to silence the Timberwolves it would be on their home court with a huge game, and that's what we're expecting the young point guard to do.

Scoring 30 is light work for Morant, but we're expecting him to step it up with a 35+ point game and a performance that leaves Patrick Beverley wondering if he should simply call it a career. Getting ahead 2-1 in this series will be crucial, especially considering the Grizzlies won't return to Memphis until Game 5, so Morant knows his team needs a big game out of him.
