Metta World Peace has a reputation for being out there. Way out there.

You can't find an interview in which he doesn't say at least one crazy thing. World Peace sat down with ESPN's Ian Begley recently and one comment he made really stood out.

World Peace was asked if he's been in contact with teams this summer and had this to say:

I’m waiting for teams. I can still play. I can play, it’s not even a question man. But, you know, sometimes you don’t get in the game man. What are you going to do? I’m not going to be upset, I’m going to support. So if I don’t play, like this year on the Lakers I could have averaged 15 or 20 on the Lakers if I played, easily. But you know, I’ll be supportive (if I don’t play).

Imagine if the Lakers wanted World Peace to score 15-20 points a night at this point in his career. It wouldn't be pretty.

World Peace only appeared in 35 games last season and averaged 5.0 points while shooting 31.1 percent from the field. Not exactly the stuff of someone who is capable of scoring 20 a night.

It's hard to ever take World Peace seriously. He doesn't usually understand what he's saying. But he definitely does still think he can play so retirement may not be in his plans just yet.
