Luke Walton has got to be the best thing that happened to the Lakers this season.

After a tumultuous campaign under the previous leadership, the youthful and talent-laden squad from Los Angeles is now exuding a positive vibe thanks to the change in culture brought by Walton’s arrival.

The rookie coach has received nothing but praises from his young players, but the best of them all comes from a veteran voice.

Per Mark Medina of the OC Register:

“Luke is going to be a Hall of Famer,” said Metta World Peace. “It’s kind of early. But I definitely see him going. It might be 40 years from now. But he’s going to be in the
re.”

It is a lofty expectation indeed especially for a greenhorn coach, but based on the qualities he has exhibited at the Lakers’ helm up to this point, it’s easy to understand where Metta World Peace is coming from on this one.
