Nate Robinson did not exactly represent the name of basketball players in the boxing ring well when he recently got knocked out by YouTube star Jake Paul in a charity match. Since then, folks have been calling for some form of redemption, and there have been some who have turned their gaze on none other than Metta World Peace.

Now known by his new name, Metta Staniford-Artest, the 41-year-old has responded to several calls demanding that he take a shot at boxing, and unfortunately, the former All-Star does not seem to be interested one bit:

Artest did not only respond to the noise, but he also responded with an unequivocal “no” to any potential boxing match. I guess that's that.

Admittedly, it would have been awesome to see Artest take the ring in an exhibition boxing match. After all, he was at the center of what is considered as the most violent brawl in the history of the NBA. Artest literally started a brawl between himself, his Indiana Pacers teammates, opposing players from the Detroit Pistons, as well as a number of Piston fans in the stands. Infamously dubbed as the “Malice at the Palace,” this incident is considered by many as one of the most embarrassing manifestations of violence in all of sports.

For what it's worth, Metta World Peace was seen hanging out with legendary boxer Mike Tyson not too long ago. We're not sure if he was asking for some boxing tips, and if Tyson advised Artest against taking the ring. Then again, it was likely just a casual hang among friends.
