The Miami Heat have a made a name for themselves as a big spender and is not afraid to sign stars during free agency. With cap space this year, Pat Riley and company will have the chance to once again make a splash and go after players who they think can contribute to their cause. However, it has been reported that they will not trade for one of the best small forwards in the league today.

According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the South Beach team do not have New York Knicks star Carmelo Anthony on their radar.

“One person in touch with the Heat said he does not expect a Heat pursuit of Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony, who’s available via trade.”

Despite having no legitimate star in their lineup this season, the Heat almost made it to the playoffs after winning 30 of their last 41 games. The culture they have has proven that they can be successful even without an All-Star, as they rely on hard work and playing with a team first approach.

However, it still remains to be seen if their front office will still bring in more talent to surround their core of Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside. They have made it known that re-signing Dion Waiters and James Johnson are on top of their list, as they try to build on the moment they have following their promising campaign this year.
