Chicago Bulls guard Michael Carter-Williams will miss three to four weeks with a bone bruise in his left knee, according to ESPN Insider Jeff Goodman.

The 6-foot-6 point guard also suffered a sprained left wrist during the team's Monday night 118-88 win over the Brooklyn Nets.

Michael Carter-Williams played five minutes and walked under his own power after suffering the knee injury. The Syracuse product stayed down for roughly a minute, which caused the coaching staff deep concern for his health.

He had played a combined 45 minutes over three games into the young season.

Isaiah Canaan will be the large beneficiary from this incident, as he's proved to be a capable three-point threat — which plays a great complement to starter Rajon Rondo — as well as a competent defender for his size.

Canaan could see time at both guard spots if need be, but can flourish at the one-spot due to his ability to penetrate in drive-and-kick situations.
