The GOAT is apparently sold on NBA Top Shot. Per Tim Levin of Business Insider, Michael Jordan is among the latest investors in Dapper Labs, the company that created the online trading card space. Dapper Labs announced a $305 million funding round that includes the Chicago Bulls legend and current Charlotte Hornets owner, as well as Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson, and Los Angeles Lakers guard Alex Caruso, among others.

Dapper Labs, the startup behind virtual trading-card platform NBA Top Shot, has closed a $305 million funding round as the market for digital collectibles continues to boom, the company announced Tuesday.

Led by the investment firm Coatue, the round includes Michael Jordan, current NBA players like Kevin Durant, Alex Caruso, Klay Thompson, and Andre Iguodala, and several other professional MLB and NFL athletes. Ashton Kutcher's Sound Ventures, Will Smith's Dreamers VC, 2 Chainz, Venrock, The Chernin Group, and USV are also involved in the round.

You know your platform is for real when the greatest to ever set foot on a basketball court believes in it. The six-time NBA champion believes in it so much that he's even willing to take a chance and invest a few of his millions in the platform.

The report by Business Insider indicates that Dapper Labs' valuation now stands at $2.6 billion following the funding. Perhaps the news of MJ's investment could funnel in more funds into Dapper Labs and make the craze for NBA Top Shot even larger in the future.

NBA Top Shot has certainly taken the trading card game to a whole new level, and several NBA stars have gotten themselves into the platform. Maybe we'll even see some vintage Michael Jordan moments at some point in the future. The prices on those would surely be enormous.
