With how the industry is going these days, you’d expect memorabilia with even a tinge of history or value in them would command a good price on the market. Take Mark Jackson’s 1990 NBA Hoops card, which featured the infamous Menendez Brothers on it. Currently, PSA 10 copies of this card are fetching an average of $575 on eBay right now. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about a particular Michael Jordan relic that just sold on eBay.

In a tweet, Darren Rovell posted an image of a ticket to a college game between the University of North Carolina and the University of Maryland in 1984:

What sets this particular ticket apart from other sports memorabilia is that this is the first time Jordan performed a cradle dunk in a game. Rovell notes that this ticket sold on eBay for $810, which is probably a bit less than you'd think for such an item.

Another important factor that makes this game, and the ticket associated with it, special is because it features Len Bias as Jordan’s nemesis. Back during the '80s, Bias was projected as a better player than Jordan, with some even proclaiming he could have had a better career than the GOAT himself.

Unfortunately, Bias would never have that legendary rivalry with Jordan in the NBA after their memorable college games against each other. Two days after being chosen by the Boston Celtics with the second pick in the 1986 NBA Draft, Bias passed away due to overdosing on cocaine.

Just like Len Bias’ unrealized rivalry with Michael Jordan, this particular game ticket won’t even potentially break the $2,000 mark. This serves as a lesson that not every sports card or memorabilia with a story in it can make it big, especially in a market that’s being swamped with these items on a day-to-day basis.
