Miesha Tate continues her UFC comeback on October 16. The former UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion is slated to fight for the second time in 2021.

Tate takes on Ketlen Vieira in a UFC Fight Night main event. The UFC made the news official last week after Vieira signed the bout agreement.

The fight is an important one for both women as they are both looking to return to the title picture. A win would put Miesha Tate on a streak.

Miesha Tate initially retired in 2016 after losing to Raquel Pennington by decision. She told her corner in between rounds that she was “done” and she proceeded to retire at the end of the fight.

Five years later, Tate reversed the decision and decided to make a comeback. She had been working for the Asian MMA promotion ONE Championship but was still under contract with the UFC as a fighter.

She returned against Marion Reneau in July and became the first person to beat Reneau by stoppage. The TKO finish cam in the third round of the fight after a dominant performance from Tate.

Ketlen Vieira has had some mixed results in her past couple of outings. The Brazilian is coming off of a loss to Yana Kunitskaya and before that, she had beaten Sijara Eubanks.

She has been a solid contender in the division for years and will be looking to make a statement when she meets the former champion in a five-round bout. Miesha Tate will be looking to prove she's still a top contender.

The UFC Fight Night event is still pending an announcement but it currently has a main event and a date of October 16.
