The Memphis Grizzlies didn't stand much of a chance in the 2016 playoffs after star players Mike Conley and Marc Gasol endured season ending injuries. Luckily, it appears both will be ready to go when the 2016-17 campaign begins in a couple months.

In a press release sent out by the Grizzlies earlier on Wednesday, it was revealed that both Conley and Gasol will participate in a full-team scrimmage on October 1st at the FedExForum.

This is especially newsworthy because the Grizzlies are yet to officially clear Gasol or Conley. Given this announcement, it seems likely that Memphis anticipates that both are closing in on their returns to the court.

The Grizzlies have invested heavily in both Conley and Gasol, signing the former to a massive 5-year, $153 million contract, the largest in total value in NBA history. If both can stay healthy, expect Memphis to compete into the postseason with some of the more obvious picks, such as the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs.
