With Mike D'Antoni having the privilege to coach one of best players in the league today, James Harden, it gives him a deeper understanding of how great his skills are, compared to other people who are on the outside looking in. He has seen everyday how he has improved his playmaking skills, especially with this season being the first time he's played the point guard spot full time.

The veteran head coach is so impressed with him being a floor general that he recently compared him to his former player and all-time NBA great, Steve Nash. D'Antoni even suggested, via Sam Amick of USA Today Sports, that he feels Harden is a better playmaker than the former two-time MVP.

“His ability to make plays and stuff is as good as anybody I’ve ever seen,”

“Oh yeah. Oh, he’s unbelievable. What he can do, what he knows, is ridiculous.”

This is definitely a very high compliment he gave to The Beard, and while many may not agree with his opinion, it's also too difficult to prove him otherwise. Harden has had his best season as a pro this year and ranked second in scoring, while leading the league in assists, which is something Nash was not able to do throughout his stellar career.

Should the Rockets continue their incredible run and move on to the next round of the playoffs, Harden will further strengthen his coach's case, especially if also wins the MVP Award in June. For now, it will be interesting to see if he will be motivated even more to lead his team to more success, after being compared to Nash, who is widely considered one of the best point guards to ever play in the NBA.
