The Australian National Men's Basketball team has never won a medal in Olympic basketball. They've also never started any tournament undefeated through the first two games, until this year that is.

In their third game Wednesday, they fought their way to a 54-49 halftime lead against Team USA, making it the American team's first halftime deficit in the Olympics since before coach Mike Krzyzewski came aboard as head coach.

Not only did Australia break with a halftime lead, but the Aussies led for a good portion of the game, staying within a possession or two until the final minute of the 98-88 loss.

Andrew Bogut called the U.S. Men's team the ultimate test, but it appeared Team USA was the one being tested, before Carmelo Anthony and Kyrie Irving helped push the team to victory with their play.

It was the hardest fought win they have earned, and the final buzzer revealed who Team USA's biggest obstacle to a gold medal could be this summer.

After the game, Coach K couldn't help but to tip his hat to the opponent, knowing there is no time for getting comfortable because of previous convincing wins.

Kevin Durant wrote off Bogut's earlier comments about looking to beat the US as just extra talk, but now they know it was for real.
