Free agent forward/center Mike Muscala has agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal to remain with the Atlanta Hawks, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical. The deal is a one-and-one, with a player-option in the second year.

Muscala did an excellent job backing up Dwight Howard last season and even playing some power forward at times. His ability to stretch the floor with his three-point shooting is a valuable asset, even for a team looking to re-tool with its young assets.

At 6-foot-11 and 240 pounds, Muscala was a serviceable big man, shooting 50.4 percent from the floor, 41.8 percent from beyond the arc, and a clean 76.6 percent from the line — a wide difference from Howard's free-throw woes and paint-generated offense.

He averaged 6.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.6 blocks per game in limited playing minutes for the Hawks.
